Mike Fools is a Corporal for the Cass County Sheriff's Office, where he has served the community for 23 years. He has been married to his wife Wanda for 12 years , and together they have 10 children. On March 26, 2010 Mike was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver. He is currently undergoing IV chemo and will continue to do so for 2 months before any prognosis is given. The doctor is also wanting to start an oral chemo,however it is unknown when that will start. |
Update 08/01/2010 Mike and his family have moved their treatment to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Ok. They have put 2 ports in and have started chemo. He is still in really good spirits. He continues to lose weight, the chemo is causing everything he eats to taste like metal. He still has his good days and his bad days, however I believe they do have his pain more under control now. Update 05/23/2010 Mike is currently undergoing intravenous chemo as well as the oral chemo. As soon as the chemos are done he will be taking a trip to The Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Ok for an evaluation to learn of any other treatment available. He continues to lose weight, he says he has good days and bad days. The bad days are generally the first couple of days right after chemo. |
